For five decades, Vietnamese Americans have made invaluable contributions to our great nation with their resilience, hard work, and unwavering commitment to family and community. Today, the United States is home to the largest Vietnamese community outside of Vietnam.
Together, Vietnamese Americans have enriched our country across every sector — from business and technology to public service and the arts — driving economic growth, advancing innovation, and deepening the cultural fabric of our nation. Yet, despite these remarkable achievements, the full potential of Vietnamese American voices and leadership remains underrepresented in the key decisions that shape our shared future.
As we mark 50 years of Vietnamese American contributions to our nation, we recognize this historical moment as an opportunity to honor our past, celebrate the present, and build a brighter future. The Vietnamese American Legacy Project seeks to strengthen our communities, promote unity, and empower the next generation of leaders in public service, business, academia, and the arts.

We aspire to cultivate an America where children and adults take pride in celebrating their shared Vietnamese American heritage. This mutual appreciation bridges cultures and generations, fostering a deeper sense of belonging and connection.

Through advocacy, partnerships, and programs, the Vietnamese American Legacy Project provides a platform to facilitate meaningful dialogues that lead to healing, collaboration, and a stronger society.

Capture and share a rich archive of first-hand experiences, providing a diverse and compelling narrative of the Vietnamese American journey.

Organize impactful events to build connections, spark meaningful conversations, and strengthen our collective capabilities.
Cultivate future leaders
Partner with community organizations to empower the next generation through cultural events, educational resources, and civic engagement opportunities.
The Heart of Our Initiative
We make it a priority to ensure every voice is included in all our work, especially those who have been historically overlooked, so that our community is fully represented at iconic institutions like the Pentagon and Kennedy Center.
Our expertise in community empowerment, capacity building, and leadership development will help unlock the full potential and expand the impact of the Vietnamese American Legacy Project.
We partner with a dynamic coalition of public and private sectors, local governments, and community leaders across racial groups to drive sustainable economic growth and social progress.

A gathering of trailblazers, leaders, and advocates for discussions on pressing community issues. The evening gala, inspired by the prestige of the Met Gala, will celebrate individuals and projects making a meaningful impact on a national scale.
Future Initiatives
Building on successful models from our community partners such as the 1882 Foundation, The Filipino Veterans Recognition and Education Project, and many others, we aim to:
- Preserve our stories: Launch a free online educational program featuring oral histories, interview highlights, and searchable transcripts to honor Vietnamese American contributions.
- Empower educators: Partner with local governments and educational institutions to develop lesson plans, teacher training videos, and student resources on Vietnamese American immigration experiences.
- Honor excellence and invest in the future: Host an annual Awards and Scholarship Reception in Washington, D.C., recognizing outstanding Vietnamese Americans and providing scholarships to students with demonstrated exceptional leadership andcommunity commitment.
